I named my website The Gastropod when I was a food writer living in France. Snails are gastropods, and the word means ‘stomach foot’. It seemed appropriate, being in France, writing about, foraging and eating snails (among many other things). But also, it had a good ring to it as a ‘pod of all things gastronomic’…๑ï
